I have some advice for people that may be upset about having a bad day, bad week or a bad life: SUCK IT UP! If you are going to take employment, whereby your paycheck is based upon the public's patronage to the store in which you work, you probably should be friendly to said public.
Needless to say, I won't be purchasing from this white trash piss-hole anymore.
I went to this place last night, right around 9:30 pm. I actually had planned to go somewhere else, but since I saw the "OPEN" sign blinking, I parked and tried to go inside. I pulled on the handle and the door was locked. A lady that was inside who as working there, SAW ME and I thought she was walking to the door to possibly let me in. Not the case.
And, if you want to stop dealing with the public after you are closed, TURN OFF THE OPEN SIGN.
The service is habitually poor, which I'm starting to realize is a Harford County standby. The staff is almost universally young adults who gab the day away socializing with their friends instead of trying to be helpful. The prices are hit or miss: some of their stock is a full $2 or more than other places. Their case discount on wine is essentially non-existent, and their selection is spotty. But, it's HdG, so, I don't know what to tell ya; this place is below average, and you aren't gonna really find better in the land of disgrace.
I made a purchase and later realized that I picked up the wrong item. I called to see if I could return the item and was told it was okay. Came back to return the item and then I was told that it was not ok. poor customer service. poor management.:-(
I've gone to this location for the past 10 years because it is closest to my house. The service was never particularly great and the workers generally act as if they are doing you a huge favor by taking your money in exchange for something that humans are naturally addicted to, as if it takes some sort of great skill.
So I tapped on the glass lightly with my ring to get someone's attention. The lady then came to the door and looked at me as if I had just murdered her puppy. I asked if they were open and she said NO, as if I had just asked her if the world was flat. I naturally pointed to the sign and told her that the OPEN sign was on. She yelled at me that she had forgotten to turn it off. I guess that was my fault. It's probably also my fault that she's an old, miserable, dried up hag. Sorry about that.
I understand that liquor stores may sometimes get late-night, belligerent stragglers that workers may get sick of dealing with. However, it was obvious that I was not such a person. What was obvious, however, was that this worker was in a bad mood and decided to take her frustrations out on a longtime customer.
Fair prices. Friendly staff. Only suggestion is its a tad outdated. Though I do appreciate the new updated gas pumps. I've also noticed they keep their gas at least a penny less than Royal Farms most of the time.
Good selections. Not great service
